The developer team for "The Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection" was "unable to salvage code" from the original versions of Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2. This includes the newer sigma versions of those games as well.
Ninja Gaiden: The Master Collection coming this summer will not be remastered due to this. Although the team does plan on improving the resolution and frame rates inside the games, the gameplay will remain identical.
Unfortunately, the multiplayer modes have been removed from Ninja Gaidens 2 and 3 in order to "increase the number of platforms we would release the collection on in order to reach as many players as possible rather than pursue the multiplayer feature."
What do you think about this? Was the decision to remove multiplayer for more support in other platforms a good idea?
